The value of Gold compare with other commodities such as oil remain stable:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_United_States_dollar – Consequently, the price of gold rose from $35 per troy ounce (1.125 $/g) in 1969 to almost $500 (…29 $/g) in 1980.This graph shows the final closing value of the U.S. dollar for each calendar year. Value is measured in milligrams of gold. By this measure the U.S. dollar lost a great amount of value during the 1970s.
Shortly after the gold price started its ascent in the early 1970s, the price of other commodities such as oil also began to rise. While commodity prices became more volatile, the average exchange rate between oil and gold remained much the same in the 1990s as it had been in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

Kemewahan, Keserakahan, Kesederhanaan, dan Kemiskinan

Hidup bermewah-mewahan/foya-foya dapat membuat orang jadi serakah. Untuk hidup mewah orang perlu uang yang banyak. Meski penghasilannya besar, tapi kalau pengeluarannya lebih besar lagi maka itu seperti lebih besar pasak daripada tiang. Dia akan berusaha mencari uang lebih banyak lagi.

Ada yang memakai credit card sehingga terlibat hutang dan berhadapan dengan debt collector. Ada yang berhutang kemudian tidak mengembalikannya. Ada kenalan yang mencoba meminjam uang puluhan juta rupiah ke saya. Padahal saya sehari-hari hanya naik angkot dan dia ke mana-mana naik mobil ber-AC. Belakangan ada teman saya yang lapor ke saya bahwa saudaranya tak dibayar ketika kerjasama dengan orang tersebut. Itulah akibat gaya hidup mewah yang berlebihan. Membuat seseorang jadi zhalim terhadap orang lain.

Al Hajj Business Expo – Empowering Muslim’s Economy

Every year on month of Zulhijjah, about 3 million Muslims from all over the world visit Mecca for Hajj. Most of them are financially strong since Hajj require a great deal of money for transportation (airplane ticket, etc.) and accommodation from their origin country to Mecca for about 15 to 30 days. This event, where 3 millions people from all over the world gather at the same time, I believe only happen on Hajj season! It’s a priceless unique moment!
